The Christian REVIVAL nobody is talking about

There's a major Christian revival happening right now all over the world, but no one's talking about it because it's not centered in stadiums. It's not driven by celebrity pastors and it's not built on emotional hype. In fact, most churches won't even acknowledge it because this revival is not about emotions or feelings. It's about turning back to God's word with sincerity and obedience. Before we get into the specifics of this particular revival, we need to look at what the Bible calls revival and compare that with what most people today think of when they hear the word revival. Because the word revival has been rebranded in modern Christianity to mean something quite different from what we see in the Bible. Most people think revival means excited and emotional worship, high energy gatherings, personal inspiration associated with a new move of God. But the Bible portrays revival very differently. Biblical revival is not about God doing something new. It's about God calling his people to repentance and obedience. Over and over again, revival in the Bible follows the same pattern. God sent prophets to call the people to repentance and the people were grieved over their sin and they turned back to God by obeying his commandments. The biblical word for repentance doesn't mean to feel bad. It means to turn back or to return. But return to what? God says, "Return to me and keep my commandments." Yet the Lord testified against Israel and against Judah by all of his prophets, every seer, saying, "Turn from your evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law, which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants, the prophets. But if you return to me and keep my commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest parts of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for my name. When revival happens in scripture, the law of God is rediscovered. God's commandments are restored in the hearts of people and obedience becomes the standard once again. Let's look at a few of the revivals found in the Bible. In 2 Kings 22, Hilkaya the priest found the book of the law and he brought it to King Josiah. Now listen to how King Josiah responded and what the Bible says about it. Then Chiffon the scribe showed the king saying, "Hokaya the priest has given me a book and Chiffon read it before the king." Now it happened when the king heard the words of the book of the law that he tore his clothes. Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the Lord to follow the Lord and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and with all his soul to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant. Then the king commanded all the people, saying, "Keep the Passover to the Lord your God, as it is written in this book of the covenant." Now before him there was no king like him who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses, nor after him did any arise like him. When [clears throat] King Josiah rediscovered the law of God, he called all the people to repentance. They got rid of their idols and they returned to obeying God's law. And one of the first things they did was keep the Passover. This is a biblical revival. The Torah was rediscovered. The people repented for their disobedience. and they began walking in obedience to God's commandments. The same thing happened with Ezra and Nehemiah as well. They read the Torah to the people, and the people repented and began walking in God's commandments. And this time they began at the feast of tabernacle. Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open square that was in front of the Watergate. And they told Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded Israel. Then he read from it in the open square that was in front of the Watergate from morning until midday before the men and women and those who could understand. And the ears of all the people were attentive to the book of the law. And they found written in the law which the Lord had commanded by Moses that the children of Israel should dwell in boos during the feast of the seventh month. So the whole assembly of those who had returned from the captivity made boos. And they sat under these boos. For since the days of Joshua the son of Nun until that day the children of Israel had not done so. And there was very great gladness. Also day by day from the first day until the last day he read from the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days. And on the eighth day there was a sacred assembly according to the prescribed manner. Once again we see revival take the same pattern. The law of God is read. People repent and they begin obeying God's commandments beginning with the commanded feast days. This is the pattern we find in the Bible. When the prophets preach repentance, they're calling God's people to obey God's word. We even see this in the New Testament. Jesus, John the Baptist, and the apostles all call people to repentance. Repentance is turning away from sin and turning back to God. Sin is defined in the New Testament as lawlessness. 1 John 3:4 says, "Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness." Likewise, Paul describes the carnal mind as being an enemy of God because it does not submit to God's law. Because the carnal mind is immity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. Biblical revival is not about discovering something new. It's about rediscovering the things of God that have been lost or forgotten. Revival is about realigning ourselves with God's will and with God's word. So why is this kind of revival ignored today? Because returning to God's commandments forces us to ask some hard questions. Questions about the Sabbath and feast days. Questions about personal holiness, including clean and unclean foods. Questions about how we should live in obedience to God's law. And these things upset those who are comfortable in their current religion. Now, let me be clear. This revival is not about earning salvation. Salvation has always been by grace through faith. Isaiah describes salvation in this way. I have blotted out like a thick cloud your transgressions and like a cloud your sins. Return to me for I have redeemed you. It's because he has redeemed us, saved us, and forgiven us that we are called to return to him in obedience. Grace leads us to obedience. Paul says it this way. What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not. How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? We can't continue to live in sin after we have been saved because we were saved from sin and now we're called to walk in holiness and righteousness, turning away from sin. We don't obey God to be saved. We obey him because we are saved and because obedience is an act of love towards God. For this is the love of God that we keep his commandments and his commandments are not burdensome. The Bible describes the saints as those who have the faith of Jesus and keep the commandments of God. Here is the patience of the saints. Here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. I don't know about you, but I want God to call me a saint. So, what does this revival look like today? All over the world, Christians are being called to obedience. They're reading the Torah, keeping the Sabbath and feast days, rediscovering biblical holiness, eating a biblical diet, and turning away from the man-made traditions that were handed down to us from the Catholic Church. They're rejecting lawlessness, and embracing true salvation from sin. These people aren't perfect, but they're sincere in seeking to obey God. This is exactly what God says he desires from his people. Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear me and always keep all my commandments that it might be well with them and with their children forever. Likewise, Jesus said that we must live by every word that comes from God. But he answered and said, "It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." Jesus also said that he didn't come to abolish any of the commandments in the Torah and that heaven and earth would pass away before even a single stroke is removed from God's law. Do not think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tit will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Again, I don't know about you, but I want to be called great in the kingdom, not least. And according to the words of Jesus, to be great in the kingdom, I need to teach and obey all of God's commandments. Remember that Jesus is the word of God made flesh. He is the living Torah, the living word of God. This means that he embodies everything the Bible speaks about. He walked in perfect obedience to God's commandments. And we are told to walk as he walked. He who says he abides in him ought himself also to walk just as he walked. This revival is Christ centered, Bible centered, and truth centered. Today we are seeing people from every Christian denomination repenting and obeying God's word. Christians all over the world are beginning to keep the Sabbath and feast days. Christians all over the world are rejecting pagan holidays and man-made traditions in favor of what God asked his people to do. And this feels threatening to many Christian pastors because they aren't the ones leading the revival. Toraheping Christianity is a threat to comfortable Christianity and consumer-driven Christianity because it exposes them for what they truly are. Torah keeping Christians pose a threat to church traditions that are not rooted in God's word because it means things need to change. When Christians obey the entire Bible, it threatens those who just want selective obedience. That's why this revival is being dismissed, mocked, or ignored by many Christians. But revival often offends people before it restores them to righteousness. The call to repent is often offensive because it requires people to humbly admit they are wrong. And many preachers are afraid to preach about this revival because they're afraid their congregation will reject it and kick them out. But a shepherd can't be afraid of the sheep. It's time for pastors to rise up and lead the sheep in obedience to God's word. It's time for revival to happen in your church. Biblical revival begins with repentance. First, you need to repent for the ways that you have strayed from God's commandments. The Bible calls this sin. Then you need to repent for the unbiblical doctrines and traditions that you have embraced. Many of these traditions come from paganism, and we should have nothing to do with those things. And finally, repent for teaching others to disregard God's commandments. The next step is restoring obedience to God's word. Begin to teach God's commandments. Teach your church to distinguish between clean and unclean and show them the beauty of obedience through the Sabbath and feast days and start leading them in holiness and righteousness according to God's commandments. Revival happens when God's people turn back to him in obedience. That is the Christian revival that nobody's talking about. And it's happening all over the world right now.
